Curt Johannsen has been Mayor of the City of Hendrum, Minnesota since 2009 and prior to that served on the City Council for two years. He is also on the Hendrum EDA board. He has been a board manager on the Wild Rice Watershed District since 2011 and presently holds the office of the secretary. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Red River Basin Commision since 2011 representing Minnesota Cities and currently is Chairman of the Board. Prior to his chairmanship, he served as treasurer and vice-chair. He most recently was appointed by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton to sit on the Fargo-Moorhead Area Flood Diversion Task Force. He was raised on a farm near Tolstoy, South Dakota where some of his family still reside and farm. He has three siblings and five nieces and nephews. He is currently furthering his education pursuing a major in agronomy with a minor in environmental sciences. He currently farms in the Hendrum area.
